What’s the story?

Colmeia na Gringa is an audiovisual collective founded by Anna Escobar and Dévra Taboada, Brazilian creatives who are building their hives and careers abroad.

The project will emerge from the restlessness, desires, and reflections of a group of Brazilian friends living abroad. What will start as casual conversations and heartfelt exchanges among friends will evolve into the aspiration to create a space for connection, collaboration, and support.

Born during the COVID-19 pandemic, Colmeia na Gringa will help people overcome the isolation of more than three years spent mostly at home. It will bring people together virtually, keeping art alive through meetings, discussions, celebrations, and collaborative projects on Discord. It will unite Brazilian immigrants living in different countries and foster bonds across borders.

Once the world had recovered and the urgent need for virtual connection eased, Colmeia na Gringa gracefully transitioned from a lifeline into a lasting memory of resilience, creativity, and community. More than a collective, it remained a symbol of a global network of “bees” that supported each other through unprecedented times.

What’s the project?

As a political stance, the collective will reject hostility, sexism, racism, LGBTQIA+ discrimination, and xenophobia present in society and reflected in the audiovisual industry. These feelings will be transformed into action through the production of multimedia content and collaborative works.

The mission of Colmeia na Gringa will be to provide care and artistic partnerships, focusing on artists who are frequently marginalized, both in front of and behind the camera, in order to create professional opportunities abroad.

How do we collide? 

For this project, social media and digital marketing services were provided, including audience engagement, email and comment management, and content creation across images, videos, and copywriting. Posts were developed following the branding and design guidelines established by Colmeia Na Gringa’s design team. Additionally, project teams were managed to ensure smooth collaboration and consistent execution across all initiatives.
